Paul McCarthy
Paul McCrthy: The Box, 1999.
"The Box contains the real atelier of McCarthy which he built into it.
But it´s not only a one-to-one depiction. He mounted every single item of his atelier, from pencil to steel cabinet, on wooden panels and changed the whole environment into a 90 degree angle. The ceiling is now the left wall, consequently the floor is the right wall which leads to a grotesque room impression and a shift of perception.
Exhibited as single object on the ground floor of The Neue Nationalgalerie, results additionally in a „Box in the Box“ situation." (bron: IRIEDAILY)
